Carus - the 'old' new name in ferry reservations technology

After seven years of being part of the Anite Group, on Tuesday 5th February 2008 the management and staff of the Finish subsidiary Anite Travel Systems Ab Ltd successfully completed the buy back of the well established business unit. The Finnish business is once again trading as an independent company under the original name Carus.
Says Anders Rundberg, the original founder of Carus, "The staff have, almost to a 'man', stated their commitment to the future of the company by investing through a share scheme".

"Although the business has always traded successfully there have been pressures following radical changes in the ferry market after consolidation, Duty-Free abolition and the success of the low- cost airlines. We have had to adapt a new business model which allows us to be competitive and entrepreneurial." explains Carus Managing Director, Anders Rundberg, "We see a number of exciting opportunities that we can now pursue which will enable us to compete more effectively and broaden the scope of services we can provide to our clients".
Adds Simon Tyrrell, Managing Director at Anite Business Systems: "Anite will continue to market its ferry solutions under the FerryRes banner whilst the Carus product offering will revert back to the products original name, CarRes."
